You will regain it on the way back. | | 2-Nov | Singapore | You will arrive in Singapore in the morning. Due to the fact that you have been flying a long time we suggest that you spend an overnight in Singapore. | | 3-Nov | Hanoi | Today you will fly to Hanoi. You will arrive in Hanoi in the afternoon. There your guide will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. | | 4-Nov | Halaong Bay | Today you are going to one of the most beautiful places on the face of the earth,Halong Bay! You will be drivennorth out of Hanoi,through the Hanoi Delta and along the Halong harbor. There you will board a privateship (or ships) to cruise through the spectacular islands, eat lunch in the midst of the beautiful areas and visit the caves (possibly swim in bay). Stay overnight on the boat. *B, L, D Note: The ship has small but clean and comfortable rooms with private bathrooms. | | 5-Nov | Saigon | You can go kayaking in this gorgeous area or you can ride a motorboat. Then you will cruise back to the harbor and then drive back to the Hanoi airportfor your flight to Saigon. | | 6-Nov | Can Tho | In the morning you will be taken to the Mekong Delta. You will visit the paper factory the puffed rice and candy factories and take various boats and car and boats as you pass through the beautiful scenery of the various canals of the Mekong River. You will spend the night at Can Tho. | | 7-Nov | Chau Doc | You will get up early in the morning to go to the fascinating Floating Market. After this excellent adventure, you will be taken northwest to see floating farmhouses, the Cham villages, the pagodas of the sacred mountains and finally to reach the village of Chau Doc. | | 8-Nov | Phnom Penh | Today you will take the 25 person Victoria Powerboat up the Mekong River from VN to Phnom Penh, Cambodia. You will see a lot of natural countryside, rural floating farms and the many beautiful sights along the Mekong Delta. You will arrive mid-day and your guide will meet you when you arrive in town and transfer you to your hotel. Once you have rested you can visit the National Museum.
Evening Option: Foreign Correspondent's Club. (this is the historic restaurant/bar where NGOs and reporters would gather to rest after working during VN war/Khmer Rouge era. The upstairs balcony overlooks the 4 rivers area and the international flags in the heart of town.
NOTE: When during Phnom Penh some people want to see some of tragic sites (the Genocide Museum and the Killing Fields) which I suppose one goes to pay tribute to the victims and/or for historic or personal reasons. Others do not want their vacation to include such sites and we will plan your tour accordingly. | | 9-Nov | Phnom Penh | Today you will visit the King's Palace which features the interesting combination of French architecture and Cambodian roofs. There are also many fascinating artifacts and cultural treasures in the buildings. If you want to explore the tragic cruel Khmer Rouge regime you can visit (outside of town). Or you can enjoy shopping at the local market and/or visit the small Buddhist temple on the only mound in Phnom Penh. This area of Cambodia is so flat that the town Phnom Penh is named after it ('Phnom' means mound). After lunch we can take you to the Russian Market and the Central Market, where both locals and tourists can browse and see a wide variety of interesting things. | | 10-Nov | Phnom Penh | Today you will be given a very unique travel experience! We will take you to ancient ruins older than Angkor Wat which are not being protected. This area is known as Angkor Borei. There are only scattered ruins (9-10th century) and the ancient city wall is buried in all but a few places. Still there are some interesting temples and sites. Your day includes riding a boat across the small lake, riding on the back of cyclos to get to the rural ruins of the city wall and visiting a Cambodian village which rarely sees Westerners. | | 11-Nov | Siem Reap | You will take the boat from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap. This is an exciting larger power boat which seats about 100. This is a rather funky boat, but definitely an Indiana Jones-like adventure. You will go through the Mekong River to the Ton Le Sap River and ultimately to the massive lake, Ton Le Sap. You will pass many interesting buildings, stilted and pontooned homes, floating villages, the submerged forest, etc. etc. Your guide will pick you up and take you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free.
Late afternoon option. Once you are rested we could take you to Phnom Bakeng where you can view the sunset at Angkor Wat from a hilltop view. | | 12-Nov | Siem Reap | The tour begins with Angkor Thom, the ancient capital city. After lunch you will be taken to Angkor Wat,the main temple area. The early afternoon is free. In the late afternoon you will meet the directors of the Cambodian Cultural Show and have the opportunity to see their costumes. Evening: Dinner and Cambodian cultural show. *B | | 13-Nov | Siem Reap | Today you will go to Bantay Srei, which is the pink stone temple area. After lunch you will see the Ta Prohm, which is the remarkable site where the trees and the monastery intertwine in many intriguing ways. Then you will return to your hotel. | | 14-Nov | Vientienne | Today you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Vientienne. Your Laotian guide will meet you at the airport/Friendship bridge and transfer you to the hotel. If we can get you a morning flight, you will have a full city tour including some important museums/temples such as: Hoprakeo, Sisaket, That luang stupa and Pratuxay. After lunch you will visit Buddha Park and CulturalPark and see the sun set at Mekong river. B, L, D

Dance, music, costume and beautiful performers. | | 15-Nov | Xieng Hoang | Veintienne - Xieng Hoang: You will be transferred to the airport for your flight to the Xieng Hoang. Upon arriving you will be transferred to your hotel. Once you are settled, you will be taken to the Plains of the Jars. Then you will return to your hotel. B, L, D | | 16-Nov | Luang Prabang | You will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Luang Prabang (world heritage town registered by UNESCO). Then you will take a city tour of this ancient capital of the Lao Kingdom, beautifully situated on the Mekong surrounded by hills. Then you will visit Wat Visoun, Wat May, Wat Xieng Thong, Wat Praphuthabat, Ban Phanom weaving village and Ban Sangkong village (paper making from mulberry tree). B, L, D. Evening: Walk around the downtown area. | | 17-Nov | Luang Prabang | You will take an excursion by boat on the Mekong River to Pak Ou Caves known as Tham Ting. On the way, visit the village of wine rice distillation of Ban Sanghai. In the evening, drive to visit Khuang Si Waterfall, return to Luangprabang late evening, climbing 238 zigzag stairs up to the sacred stupa: That Chomsi. Enjoy sunset over Mekhong River and panoramic view of Luangprabang. Stay overnight in Luang Prabang. L , D | | 18-Nov | Bangkok | Today we will fly you from Luang Prabang to Bangkok. There your guide will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free. B, L | | 19-Nov | Bangkok | Your guide will pick you up and take you to the Reclining Buddha Temple,which features agiant Buddhastatue over 90 feet in length. After lunchyou will go to the incredible Grand Palace with Wat Pra Kaeo. This historic set of government and religious buildings displays the Thai's incredible ability to design buildings like precious stones and jewelry. Several unique buildings stand side by side, from the Golden Stuppa to the glittering Wat and the government buildings with that feature a combination of English architecture and Thai roofs.Afterwards you will visit the Jim Thompson Residence Museum which is an interesting walk through tour of his Thai style home and gardens area as well as an informative story of his mysterious disappearance. B, L | | 20-Nov | Singapore | Today we will fly you back to Singapore. You will take the shuttle coach transfer to your hotel. | | 21-Nov | In Flight | The day is free.
